Why Altıntaş Is The Up-and-Coming Place To Buy Property In Antalya
If you’re considering investing in property in Antalya and Google the Altıntaş area, you might wonder for a moment just why there are so many homes up for sale. Should alarm bells be ringing?
Absolutely not – we can assure you of that. This isn’t some kind of exodus – far from it. Rather than homes being offered by residents keen to leave, these properties are largely brand-new, state-of-the-art residences – exclusive boutique apartments with stunning views and all mod cons. They’re mostly located within contemporary developments that include all the facilities demanded by discerning buyers who have an eye for luxury living.
But why is Altıntaş suddenly proving so popular? Well, the answer is really just the latest chapter in Antalya’s success story.
Tourism is thriving
The city really caught on to the potential offered by international tourism back in the 1980s, and it came on in leaps and bounds when its very own airport opened a decade later. With flights now available to and from more than fifty destinations, more and more people have discovered Antalya’s Mediterranean appeal.
Indeed, more than 120 five-star hotels now line the city’s sandy beaches. Other attractions include one of Turkey’s largest theme parks, to say nothing of its natural charms, with the stunning turquoise coastline fringed by pine-clad mountains.
Once holiday visitors have enjoyed delicious Turkish cuisine, the warm summer climate, and activities including water sports, paragliding, trekking, kayaking and white-water rafting, it’s perhaps not surprising that many want to stay – or at least own a holiday home in Antalya so they can return whenever they choose.
In recent years, those fortunate enough to have made their dreams come true have chosen to make their homes in the areas closest to the sea. Lara, Kundu, Belek and Konyaaltı have been the most popular – and remain so when it comes to resale properties.
However, there was bound to come a time when they reached capacity and, right now, there is no more space to build. As a result, developers have begun to focus on Altıntaş, which is beginning to feel very much like Konyaaltı ten years ago.
Pulling power
The proximity of Altıntaş to Antalya International Airport is certainly an added advantage when it comes to owning a home there. If all goes smoothly at passport control and baggage reclaim, you’ll be relaxing in your stunning luxury apartment in Antalya within an hour of landing.
However, the long sandy beaches at Lara and Belek are also only a couple of kilometres away along with some of the city’s other best-known attractions. These include the bright lights and shows hosted at the Land of Legends theme park, the numerous golf clubs and the stunning waterfall at Duden Park.
Other amenities are also within relatively easy reach, not least the thoroughly modern Lara Anadolu Hospital, a Russian-speaking international school, a number of state schools and colleges, countless restaurants and eateries, shops and local businesses.
The famous Mall of Antalya is also just the other side of the airport, offering both well-known Turkish and international high street brands, fashion stores, a cinema, a performance area and art gallery.
Perfect for modern living
There’s another reason why Altıntaş is proving so popular among potential buyers in Antalya, too. The fact the district’s development has been overseen by the city authority rather than just the local administration means other important aspects of modern life have also been included.
For example, the district enjoys good public transport links and children’s play areas, and care facilities are plentiful. Sports and leisure centres, swimming pools and even a commercial hub have also been included in the district’s development plans.
The additional benefit is that much of the infrastructure is relatively new. The district feels vibrant and exciting – Antalya’s new place to see and be seen. Nevertheless, the established and authentic aspects of the city which have made it so popular as a place to live and visit remain within a short drive or bus ride.
